Mission

The mission of CISD is to identify and serve the needs of San Diego's Israeli community; to promote a sense of pride in its cultural heritage and roots; and to provide it with an opportunity to create a home away from home.   Special emphasis is placed on programs and activities that help in preserving the community's Israeli identity and that strengthen its ties with Israel and San Diego's Jewish community at large.

CISD will enlist the support and involvement of volunteers from the Israeli community to accomplish these goals. We encourage any and all members of the San Diego Israeli community to take part in shaping their community by becoming involved in CISD's programs and activities.

Organization

CISD was incorporated in the State of California on June 18, 2004, and is a tax-exempt organization under section 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Goals

A Steering Committee meets to coordinate activities and to identify areas of likely interest to the community. The goals of the Committee are listed below:

1. Determine the demographics of the community, i.e, age, marital status, etc.

2. Identify the areas of utmost interest/concern to the community

3. Develop programs to address the above interests/concerns.
